The real question is, how can you stay off drugs FOREVER. Stay in touch with your counselor from your programs and in touch with your probation officer. His/her job is not only to keep you responsible for your probation conditions but to help you with other problems as well. Although I do not practice organized religion, I have seen it work wonders for many who have had problems. Much of who you will become, depends on whom you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with good people. Join clubs at schools or any other organization to keep you busy. Studies have shown younger folks who participate in sports and other school events have lower incidents of trouble. Best wishes.

You have to control your environment first. You can’t hang around with – or really have any interaction with – anyone who uses. If you have no way to get the drugs, and no exposure to it, the question of doing the drugs is moot. I know turning your back on pretty much everyone you know is tough. I’ve been there myself. But it’s the only way to be sure of changing your life. There is a whole world of non users. You’ll find them and they’ll find you. The problem with groups of people who’ve quit is that you’re still part of the life.

Getting a counselor would be a really good idea. Also, don’t hang out with any of your old friends that do drugs. Hang out with drug free friends. Make more if you have to. Stay away from social situations where you would have done drugs. Do different things. Go for coffee. Walk in the park. Watch movies. Distract yourself with sports and focus on school. Also, it worries me that your attitude is to keep off the drugs until you are off probation. You should be planning to stay off them. With the support of your family, good friends and a counselor, you will be able to do it. You will also be able to make positive changes in your life such as doing better at school so that you’ll be able to have a better future. Good luck!

Find things to do with your free time that will take your mind off of drugs, as well as keep you busy so that you are away from the people and places that wil tempt you do start using again. It sounds cliche, but, get a hobby! I would always advise people to try swimming, because it is not only one of the best exercises but also one of the simplest and most absorbing; once you start, time flies by like you wouldn’t believe. If you are into sports, then join a school team. If not, join a school club that you are interested in. Get into photography, horseback writing, working out, writing, painting, gardening– anything to keep you busy.

Another great way to stay out of trouble is to make friends that are completely not into drugs. That way, you can go places with them and know that you will either be far far away from anyone or anywhere related to drugs or have people with you that can help you resist temptation.

One piece of advice for you: don’t listen to people who discourage you from doing things so just because you had problems in the past. You are a new person now! Start a new life! Good luck!!

I’m proud of you for completing the program ! Stay involved with your rehab group, don’t renew old friendships that may have contributed to the problem. And you might want to think about volunteer work with others who are like you used to be. Good luck and stay clean, you can do it!

Well I think as you had finished your program you are now ready to face the community. So, just divert your mind on the things that interests you like sports, books, theater or anything that can divert your mind with those prohibited drugs.

Just like in werewolf movies, have yourself locked into a room that you can not get out of, if things are that bad and you desire to change, you have to want to change before it can happen, good luck.
