Imagine the show Lost except they landed on this land… that would suck lol

I don’t think drug addicts or dealers should be sent to this island. The only reason they sell is because they were born in that type of environment. It’s different when you’re a serial rapist and down right perverted; then you should be punished. As for gang members there’s psychological reasons behind that as well.

Woo Hoo! It already happened here in Australia so don’t send us any more! Seriously some poor devils were deported from the UK to Oz for stealing a loaf of bread – not on the level of drug dealers!

Actually I suggested the following to a question on the death penalty and got thumbs down for it: “I have unconventional ideas as to what should be done with the dreadful offenders. Rather than keep them in jail for ever at great cost to the taxpayer, I would like to see a method of brainwashing developed that would remove all tendencies to commit crime. I know, the Civil Libertarians would scream at that, but people do have a choice as to whether they will deliberately harm others. But is this scientifically possible? I don’t know.”

Perhaps your suggestion for an island will be better received! It certainly would be an interesting social experiment. Have you ever read “Lord of the Flies?” The society that resulted from the shipwreck of children on an island was grim, but then they didn’t deserve the shipwreck… I think the society arising from criminals on an island would need to be kept well clear of!

Hum. Let’s keep a little civility & divide the island into three parts.
It would have area well provided with resources where they could live off of the land abundantly. First they’d be brought to an education center to teach them how to live. Once learned, they go to the Eden. Thos e wo just want to reamin animalistic could be turned over by their peers to the third sectioned off area where the animals can live like the predators they shoose to be. — Those learning to live cooperatively after a certain amount of time could be returned to society of moved to the teaching center to train new arrivals. — Some may even earn their way off of the island. The only cost would be the teaching center until staff could all be replaced by the civilized convicts that have to reamin but find fulfilment in trying to help new arrivals. — Those on the preadator side will be killing each other off anyway so there would always be room for more. — Interesting social experiment.

I think of the movie “Escape from LA” the movie itself wasn’t that good, but I liked it.
