I am applying for a position which requires a Secret Security Clearance issued from the DOD. I am not asking whether or not to disclose certain information , but whether or not I have a chance at obtaining the clearance based on the situation I will be disclosing. Here’s the scenario:

In High School, I experimented with marijuana. I also tried MDMA twice. I was arrested for the possession of MDMA and spent 1 year in an outpatient rehabilitation program. After successful completion, all the charges were withdrawn against me, by rule of Drug Court, and my record was expunged. I was a minor at the time.

Since this incident, I have moved on with my life. I do not take any drugs, and I have been in a debt management program for over a year now ( financial item ). I have a few minor tickets, but nothing that is alarming. I’m only a few years out of college, but have a clear and obvious difference of lifestyle than the person which was arrested for 1 pill of MDMA.

I have read a lot in regards to the SF86 and Adjudication Desk Reference and anything else I can find, and cannot confirm whether or not my situation will clear, only that the ability to prove yourself is available for drug scenarios.

Please tell me with exact to semi-exact preciseness whether or not I should pursue this opportunity.
Just to re-clarify, because it seems the first two responses believed it was a juvenile offense – it was NOT. I was charged as an adult when I was a juvenile, which is why I had to go to a one year rehabilitation program to have it removed from my record.
