Home Birth Hertfordshire?

Question by Bunnyfluff: Home Birth Hertfordshire?
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has had a home birth in the Hertfordshire area. I am 6 weeks pregnant and told by my GP that although they will support a home birth they would not recommend it for my first baby. I told my GP I appreciated his concerns and it is a decision I have come to after a lot of thought and investigation.

I’m dreading seeing my midwife on 24 May as I’m sure she will try and talk me out of it. Has anyone had any experience of this in the area???

Best answer:

Answer by krazypuddykat
If you’re healthy throughout you pregnancy, without having any hypertension, preclampsia, or any other concerns that your midwife may have, I don’t see why you couldn’t have your baby at home. Just make sure this is really what you want, because if you have any doubts, you may end up getting tensed up and make delivery complicated
